Cannabis Hard Candy Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup filtered water
  • 2-3 teaspoons cannabis tincture (use your desired potency)
  • 1/2 teaspoon flavoring extract (optional: peppermint, cherry, etc.)
  • 1-2 drops of food coloring (optional)
  • Candy molds
  • Candy thermometer
  • Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Your Workspace:

    • Lightly spray your candy molds with non-stick cooking spray to ensure the candies don’t stick when they set.
    • Place a candy thermometer nearby for easy access.
  2. Combine the Ingredients:

    • In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water.
    • Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Bring to a Boil:

    • Attach your candy thermometer to the saucepan.
    • Without stirring, let the mixture boil until it reaches a temperature of 300°F (150°C), which is the hard crack stage.
    • Be very careful not to overheat, as it can burn quickly at this stage.
  4. Add Flavoring, Color, and Cannabis Tincture:

    • Once it reaches 300°F, remove the saucepan from heat immediately.
    • Let it sit for about 30 seconds, then add the cannabis tincture, flavoring extract, and food coloring. Stir thoroughly but carefully (the mixture will be extremely hot).
  5. Pour into Molds:

    • Quickly but carefully pour the hot candy mixture into the prepared molds.
    • Allow the candies to cool and set at room temperature for about 30-60 minutes.
  6. Unmold and Store:

    • Once fully set, pop the candies out of the molds.
    • Store them in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes:

  • Potency: Adjust the amount of cannabis tincture based on your desired potency.
  • Candy Thermometer: Using a thermometer is crucial to ensure the mixture reaches the right temperature for proper texture.
  • Storage: These candies can last for several weeks when stored properly.

Enjoy your homemade cannabis-infused hard candies responsibly!
